The Police Administration has established Special Highway Task Forces made up of personnel of the MTTU to undertake a nationwide exercise on the major trunk roads to check speeding, overloading, reckless driving, rickety vehicles, underage driving, among others
.
This has been necessitated by the recent surge in road accidents which is believed to be the consequence of series of road indiscipline among motorists.
The driving public, including motor riders are therefore being reminded to carry along all relevant documents including their driving/riding licenses whenever they are on the road and to produce them upon request by the Police.
The Police is also appealing to members of the public to support this exercise to ensure that it becomes a success.
