CLOSING CEREMONY OF A TWO WEEK CAPACITY BUILDING COURSE FOR 150 JUNIOR RANKS.
The Director General of Human Resource Development of the Ghana Police Service, Mrs. Joana Osei-Poku has called on all personnel to constantly train to uplift their competencies to meet the international policing standards.
Mrs. Joana Osei-Poku said this during the closing ceremony of a two week capacity building course for 150 personnel of the service on Friday 29th January, 2010 at the National Police Training School, Tesano, Accra.
She emphasized that Policing world wide was shifting from Para-military to proactive intelligence-led law enforcement, and added that Ghana is a model of democracy in Africa and for that matter many will measure the level of democratic Policing undertaken.
She said that it was her belief that the course had in no doubt awakened the conscience of the personnel, and challenged them to perform their duties professionally.
Mrs. Joana Osei-Poku finally commended the commanding officer of the National Police Training School as well as course facilitators and Resource persons for ensuring a successful course.
On his part the Commanding Officer of the National Police Training School, Chief Superintendent James Abass Abaah expressed his gratitude to the Police Administration for organizing the course, and called for the provision of modern teaching and learning facilities to enhance training of personnel.
