INDUCTION SERVICE
The Ghana Police Service held an Induction Service for the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mr. Paul Tawiah Quaye at the Ghana Police Church, Accra on Sunday, January 24th, 2010.
Among the dignitaries present were the former first Lady, Her Excellency Mrs. Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings, some members of council of State, Members of Police Council, and former Inspector-General of Police (IGPs), Service Commanders, Members of Police Headquarters Advisory and Management board, Regional Commanders, and other traditional leaders.
The Induction ceremony was conducted by the Rt. Rv. Dr. Yaw Frimpong-Manso Moderator General Assembly of Presbytarian Church of Ghana who also preached the sermon urged the newly inducted IGP to look up to God and study the word of God for his directions. He emplored other colleagues to offer him the necessary assistance to bring on board the good ideas that will enhance the image of the service. He called on churches and other stakeholders to be weary of foreign culture that are impacting negatively on the society. He called for the need to help the police fight bribery and corruption by providing other assistance whilst calling on the Government to provide good accommodation, salary and other logistics to the police to accomplish its constitutional mandate.
