The Police Administration is calling on the people of the Akwatia Constituency to be calm and allow the polls to move on smoothly on Tuesday 18th August, 2009.
The Police Administration wishes to draw the attention of the people of Akwatia to the rules and regulations bordering the conduct of elections in the country.
All Political Parties involved in the contest are also entreated to avoid anything that might disrupt the smooth conduct of the elections, as that might amount to violation of the electoral laws of the country.
The Police would want to assure all Political Parties and members of the public that they are doing everything possible to create the necessary security atmosphere for the conduct of the elections, and that they would deal with anyone or group of persons who would do anything to disrupt the elections.
Meanwhile, the Police have re-enforced security in Akwatia and its environs in preparation for the up coming elections aimed at protecting voters, electoral officers and the safe guarding of all ballot boxes.
