MTTU Training
The Unit has a programme to train its personnel in order to raise their level of consciousness.
This would enable them to meet the challenges of the new democratic dispensation. Already, over 100 personnel in Accra have underwent a day's seminar, in the early part of the year (2003), organised by the Leadership of the Unit through their own initiative with some resource persons coming from the DVLA.
The personnel involved were drafted to form one group at the Central Police Station in Accra under the command of Mr. Blay, an Assistant Superintendent of Police. With the passage of the Road Traffic Ordinance No. 55/52 in 1952, the Unit was formally established with Accra Central MTTU becoming its Headquarters under the command of ASP/MR. T.W. Sackey. At the moment, Assistant Commissioner of Police Daniel Julius Avorgah is the Commanding Officer of the Unit.
