MTTU

Ghana Police Service

The MTTU is organised in eleven (11) Units. One in each of the eleven Police Regions in Ghana. There are also Divisional and District MTTUs and Accident Squads. The C/MTTU in Accra is the Headquarters of all MTTUs in the country. Regional, Divisional and District MTTUs are administratively, under the command of Regional, Divisional and District Police Commanders.

In the case of the Central MTTU in Accra (which is in the Greater Accra Region), the Commissioner of Police (Operations), Police Headquarters, has "Oversight Responsibility" over the C/MTTU, fully accredited as National MTTU in the Justice Archer Commission's report [1981].
