The INSPECTOR-GENERAL OF POLICE (IGP) is assisted in the day-to-day administration and operation of the Service by the Headquarters Management Advisory Board (HEMAB) chaired by the DEPUTY INSPECTOR-GENERAL OF POLICE.
All Police functions, organisation, personnel management and welfare have been divided into eleven (11) SCHEDULES with each schedule under the Command of a Director-General.
The schedules are:

  1. ADMINISTRATION
  2. HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT(HRD)
  3. WELFARE
  4. CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION DEPARTMENT (CID)
  5. RESEARCH, PLANNING AND ICT
  6. LEGAL

  9. TECHNICAL
  10. FINANCE
  11. PROFESSIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND STANDARDS BUREAU (PIPS)

The CHIEF STAFF OFFICER (CSO) is responsible for the administration of the National Headquarters and is the Secretary of HEMAB
