Service Structure:
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is made up of various units including:
1. Criminal Data Service Bureau (CDSB)
(i) Finger Print
(ii) Criminal Record Office (CRO)
(iii) Singles Finger Print (SFP)
2. Rapid Response Unit (RRU)
3. Homicide (HMS)
4. Drug Law Enforcement Unit (DLEU)
5. Interpol Deportation and Extradition Unit (IDEU)
6. Commercial Crime Unit (CCU)
7. Prosecution Unit (PU)
8. Central Crime Research and Operations Unit (CCROU)
9. Vetting Criminal Intelligence and Analyses Unit (VCIA)
10. National Firearms Registration and Vocational Licensing Authority (NFRVLA)
11. Anti-Armed Robbery Squad (AARS)
12. Statistics Information and Technology Unit (SITU)
13. Quarter Master Stores
14. Pay Office
15. Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL)
Every Police Station within the country has a branch of the CID attached and it is the duty of these personnel to investigate all cases reported at their stations.
